RK International Machine Tools’ portfolio of grinding machine technology marks it out as a leader in grinding systems in the UK and Ireland. The success that it has seen thanks to its impressive portfolio of machines, and overall growth in that sector of the market, has resulted in the need to strengthen its sales team. This has been accomplished with the appointment of Craig Digweed to the role of Product Manager – Grinding Machines.

Craig is a time-served engineer who spent his early years in industry within the sub-contract machining environment, where he worked as a team-leader mainly working on aerospace products. He then moved on to work for the Atomic Weapons Research Establishment, before moving on to cutting tool sales, first as an applications engineer, then as an area sales manager, where he achieved year-on-year growth during his time in the role. Looking for a new challenge, machine tool sales was the next obvious step for him.

Craig Digweed strenghens the RK sales team

“The opportunity to join RK International Machine Tools is one that I’m relishing, especially with the clear focus on grinding machines and systems. The challenge of moving from cutting tools to machine tools and from a small geographic area to covering the UK and Ireland, is something that I’m relishing,” says Craig Digweed.  “The team at RK Internationals have made me feel very welcome and the chance to learn from one of the UK’s leading grinding specialists, Dick Aldrich, is a fantastic opportunity. From a personal point of view, I am looking forward to building on existing relationships and bring to the role my determination to deliver on promises and react quickly to customer interactions.”

Grinding technology has become a core element of RK International Machine Tools’ portfolio and Craig will work alongside Dick Aldrich, Director, RK International Machine Tools to draw on his experience with product ranges such as Perfect, Robbi, Delta and Europa Jainnher, which cover virtually every aspect of abrasive machining. “Craig joins us at an exciting time as we are seeing significant growth in our grinding machine sales. This has become an important aspect of our business and one that continues to strengthen and reinforce our reputation as a leading supplier and point of expertise for all elements of grinding technology,” says Dick Aldrich. “With Craig on-board we will be able to maximise any opportunities as well as add to the level of grinding knowledge within the company.”
