Used Colchester Triumph VS2500

This is a rugged and versatile centre lathe, designed to handle a wide range of machining work, from heavy material removal through to accurate precision finishing. It combines solid construction with variable speed control, making it suitable for both general workshop use and more demanding machining applications.

The machine is fitted with an ACU-RITE digital readout (DRO) system and linear encoders, providing clear and accurate positioning of the machine axes. The large LCD display makes it easy to monitor the actual position of each axis while machining, helping to improve accuracy and repeatability.

The ACU-RITE DRO also incorporates Constant Surface Speed (CSS) control. This automatically adjusts the spindle speed as required during machining, helping to maintain the correct cutting speed as the workpiece diameter changes. This can improve tool performance, reduce machining times and produce a better, more consistent finish.

With its variable speed drive, digital readout and CSS functionality, this 2014 machine offers a good combination of traditional centre lathe capability with modern electronic controls. A range of accessories is also available, allowing the machine to be configured for different types of machining work.
